ITCAF Interview - Gabrielle Walsh

Our special guest on ep. 252, from NBC's huge hit series, "Found" is actress, Gabrielle Walsh, making her first appearance on the podcast. We talk all about how she got started in the business, including a beautiful story of how her father's passion for old films and their stories, and watching how those films resonated with him really inspired her path into acting and storytelling. We also talk all about her role of Lacey Quinn on "Found" and how Shanola Hampton, from day one, created an environment on set where the cast felt safe and able to open up, step outside of themselves, and give. She also tells us some great behind the scenes stories of the cast, including a hilarious story about the time Arlen Escarpeta hid her shoe between scenes, and how the rest of the cast played along with the joke. Then we get deep, as she shares how the birth of her daughter at the age of 15 drastically shifted her life, and how the diversity of being raised by an Irish father and African-American mother helped shape her mission of using her art to help others relate to the ups & downs of journeying through life. We discuss how the industry can sometimes take people down a dark path, and she shares with us how she uses laughter to decompress, uplift her spirit, and the importance of self-care and self-love. We then continue our "Popcorn Questions" segments to which she surprised us with an answer of wanting to be somewhere mystical with pirates!
