During his time leading Matthews, Jim was also appointed Mayor Pro-Tem by his colleagues and spent time on numerous advisory boards and committees including Matthews Volunteer Fire Department, Matthews HELP Center, chaired the Charlotte Regional Transportation Planning Organization (CRTPO), Metropolitan Transit Commission (MTC), Matthews Alive! and several others.
The objective of Inside Matthews is to get everyone in the loop and for Jim to share his ideas and thoughts about the Matthews Community, with the Matthews Community. Jim will share information on and about the Town of Matthews, from the inside, out. His vision is to communicate with the listener how Matthews has evolved from the small cotton and railroad town it began as, to the thriving destination and successful business center it is today.
