Former PlayStation Executive, Shahid Ahmad, has gone on record stating that the launch of PS4 could quite possibly have been the end of PlayStation as we know it. Of course, we always knew that the PS4 was going to have an uphill battle due to the shortcomings of the PS3’s launch and life-cycle but to hear former execs equate the PS4’s success to life and death for the brand is certainly a new perspective. This behind the scenes look comes to us from early screenings and a trailer for a new PlayStation documentary making the rounds and it’s pretty clear with some of the big names attached that we’ll be getting all sorts of new perspectives to consider throughout the history of the platform. The documentary is called Bedrooms to Billions: The PlayStation Revolution and will release on September 7th 2020 but until then we’ll be right here on Inside Gaming Daily reading the tea leaves and determining if in fact, like a river, the past does repeat itself with the upcoming launch of the PS5.
