Karen Siggins speaks about our tendency towards Confirmation Bias to prove a point. A continuation in our series on the church in Ephesus.

Karen is the Interim Director of Ministries at the Baptist Ministry Centre.

We all have a tendency to over-read or under-read a situation when we try to prove a point. This is called Confirmation Bias.

Karen unpacks this in the context of us making choices about the path we follow and the judgements we make in life.

Key points;
- The wrong pathway is a dangerous place. Anyone can make a wrong choice.
- God and the devil are not virtual equals wrestling over humanity.
- The devil does not represent a threat to God’s purposes.
- The fear, the devil can ‘make us’ do stuff, is NOT biblical. You and I have been lured by the power of evil, which clearly exists.
- When God gets angry its because of His love.
- God is NOT angry with you. He is angry with evil.

- For we are God’s masterpiece. Ephesians 2:10
- The Holy Spirit empowers in us the gift of Grace.
- We should be like Jesus and lean in with Grace.

Questions to ponder;
- What pathway are you on?
- Where might God be leading you to join him in deploying Grace - internally and externally?
