THE CONVO
In today’s episode, I talk about spaces, in particular public spaces, thinking about what they are, what they do, and who they are really for.
This episode is inspired by my course this semester called "Queer-Feminist-Antiracism and Design for the Future" at MIT. I was tasked with the assignment of coming up with a project centering around intersectional design operating under queer-feminist-antiracist frameworks in some capacity. The question that I (attempt) to answer: How are public spaces reflecting individual community needs, grounded in ethno-racial, socio-historical, geographical contexts? I use The Richard A. and Susan F. Smith Campus Center as a specific space I am familiar with to discuss large conversations surrounding public spaces.
