Majority Leader Sen. Kim Lightford (D-Maywood) and state Sen. Mike Simmons (D-Chicago) discuss the importance of representation, and how being the mother of transgender child and the first openly gay Illinois state senator has influenced their work in Springfield for the LGBTQ+ community.
