Bjorn Beijnon (UvA) interviews Elisabetta Costa, assistant professor at the Department of Media and Journalism at the University of Groningen. As an anthropologist, Elisabetta has researched several communities and the role that media play in their lives. In this interview Elisabetta shares her experiences with doing field work abroad, gaining trust from communities in both online and offline settings, and if it is possible to do ethnographic research without taking media into consideration.
