Brett and Ryan discuss how communication and education are critical to the success of infill development.
Brett Johnson is a partner in Boss Design, a Residential Design Firm in the Edmonton area, that specializes in estate homes, renovations, and infill development. A graduate of the NAIT Architectural Technology program in 2003, he has been designing custom homes of all shapes and sizes since. He takes the approach that one design doesn't fit all, as everyone's needs, wants, expectations and stories are all unique. Through a collaborative and informative process, he educates clients and builders on design, construction, bylaws, and codes so they can maximize their homes. This has been extended into IDEA's builder education course, where he teaches the Design 101 module.
