I was in the hospital, trying to figure out what that meant in terms of the spinal cord injury, how how life was going to turn out. And I got scared that someone was going to come, that somebody in the hospital would flag me as a potential risk for for my son. And I knew how my clients had to struggle with that, and had to fight for their rights to be recognized. I feared that I would be put in the same position. My practice changed in that respect, but more in terms of understanding the emotional turmoil and how the gaze of everyone can really impact your parenting or your fear around parenting.
