The fate of the Earth is closely tied to our oceans. Given the toll that humans have exacted on the marine environment within a relative handful of decades, the need for detailed scientific scrutiny of our ocean basins has never been more acute, and a new global report from Clarivate highlights the growing body of research in this area, particularly around sustainability and topics such as microplastics in the ocean.  

The report’s two authors, Ross Potter, Senior Data Scientist at the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) and Brodie Pearson, Assistant Professor at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon, are interviewed in this episode of Ideas To Innovation Season 2.
