Good Monday morning!  We’ve had a half-inch of rain over the weekend! 

It’s a  chilly degrees 48 this morning in Boise and the Treasure Valley.  And a cool 40  in Poky a bit cooler 39 in IF. Northern Idaho, the mid-40s…. WE have warmer temps later in the week for the long weekend.

Front-month corn futures open this morning with 5 to 6 cent losses. Jul 21 Corn futures stands at $6.59

 | At the close on Friday, winter wheat futures were in the red but off the lows. CBT SRWinter futures open with 3 1/2 cent losses. Front-month KC wheat almost two cents lower. Spring wheat futures open mixed. Jul 21 CBOT Wheat opens at $6.74 down 1 cent,

- Soft White Wheat | 5.31 | down 6
- Hard Red Winter | 5.31 | down 1
- DNS 14% | 6.28 | down 8
- Hard White | 5.26 | down 1

Milk prices open up strong at $18.97 per hundredweight and continue to rise.

Sugar stands at 17 cents per pound, down a percentage point.

Heating oil is at 52.83 and climbing…Gas prices in Treasure valley stand at nearly 3.50 cents per gallon going into the Memorial Day weekend.

After firmness Friday, front-month fat cattle futures rally this morning  at a buck in the black. Cash sale activity opens relatively light near the $119-$120 mark. Feeder cattle futures opens $1.47 to $2.00 higher. May feeders roll off the board next till next Thursday. The CME Feeder Cattle Index for May is $135.20 which is  up another $1.34.

All grades of Alfalfa hay remain steady to strong.  Demand is moderate because we finally have the first cut in SW Idaho and Magic Valley is coming on…but the rain has slowed bailing

Timothy going up to $200 a ton…

Supreme going for 180 per ton

Premium           170                

Good              130
