It’s a cool 55 degrees this morning in Boise and the Treasure Valley. It's a cooler 57 in Poky and IF. Northern Idaho, 55…. We have a cooling trend after hot temps this week, which should be perfect farm weather for the weekend.

Corn still looking flat and Sept. 19 corn futures opens at $3.11 in Chicago, that just up a quarter-cent and trending down from last week.

Front-month wheat futures continued to weaken this morning. SRW futures fell back by 9 cents. KC HRW futures were down by 8 cents. Minn Grain Ex wheat opens the day with 1/2 cent losses. Wheat export sales during the week were 605-thousand MT. That's lower but still 24% above last year and within the range of trade expectations.

Milk prices open up at $19.84 per hundredweight, losing nearly 3 dollars over this past week.

Front-month live cattle futures open the day mostly lower with losses limited to 70 cents. August fats are 32 cents higher. Feeder cattle futures open down 52 in the front months. The August 5 CME Feeder Cattle index is $140.79, which was another 19 cents stronger. USDA reports limited cash sales. 

Lots of good quality hay across the state…and that's the problem…hay prices are way down because of inventory:

Supreme $160, premium 140, good and rain damaged 120.00
