Our guest, John Walicki is at the forefront of tech-for-good and developer advocacy with his work on the "Call for Code" and "Code and Response" programs at IBM.  The spread of the COVID-19 and other threats like natural disasters, pose an acute threat to world populations in the future.

In this episode, we are going to hear how John's work with the Code and Response programming recently challenged a group of healthcare professionals, data scientists, and engineers at a New York City hackathon to address the COVID-19 epidemic.  This is just one example of how these programs are enabling concerned communities to build open solutions that combat some of the world's greatest problems such as the continuing spread of the Coronavirus epidemic.
