I want to read you a poem

2 episodes - English - Latest episode: about 4 years ago -

I recall reading somewhere that Allen Ginsberg when he lived in NYC, used to take a daily photograph of his backyard from his apartment kitchen window. This podcast is my attempt to do something similar, but with sound instead. In these episodes you’ll hear the crumple of paper, sound of birds chirping, and sometimes me reading you a favorite poem. The name of the episodes are taken from one of Robert Macfarlane’s recent word of the day, which he posts on twitter. His twitter alias is @RobGMacfarlane

I read the poem I Own A House by Mary Oliver. The title of this episode is Chasidah, which is the Hebrew name for the White stork. See this Robert Macfarlane’s tweet to read more about the word: https://twitter.com/RobGMacfarlane/status/1260087420063821824?s=20

Sound of birds chirping in the morning, and then much later in the day dinner being prepared. The sounds of cooking carry with it joy, in the clinking and clanking of pans, of oil ready to absorb the flavor of spice, and even the full stop of the range being turned off in the end.
