Rafinha (or Rafi) Bastos is an international comedic icon.

The New York Times named Rafi "The Most Influential Person on Twitter" in 2011. He even beat the Dalai Lama (suck it, Lama!).

He's a pioneer of standup in his country and Joe Rogan called Rafi the Lenny Bruce of Brazil on the Joe Rogan Experience.

Rafi is now doing standup in the US. He's shared the stage with greats like Dave Chapelle, Sarah Silverman, and is now a regular at the Comedy Cellar in New York City.

Rafi joins Stephen to talk about:

-How going to school for journalism helped Rafi observe funny moments, write succinctly, and become a great joke writer.

-How Rafi became a pioneer of standup comedy and became one of the most popular comedians in Brazil.

-The crazy locations that Rafi and his pals started to do standup (like BDSM clubs).

-Rafi’s challenge of cultivating a following here in America while also entertaining his massive following in Brazil.

-How Rafi made an impression on Netflix’s Ultimate Beastmaster and how his “booth jumping” changed the show in its 2nd season.

-Some of the key relationships that he formed that have helped him in his career in America, including Jade Catta-Preta and Kevin Nealon.

-And more!!

Then Rafi & Stephen jump into some self-help, including dealing with kids that are a-holes for 17 minutes in the morning, giving gifts to strangers, and so much more.
