Don't be Afraid, Fear God!

This week, Pastor Vlad highlighted the need to not only love God, but to FEAR Him. He pointed out the key differences between being afraid and having the fear of God.

Notes:

1. Fear of God is not the same as being scared of God. 
- Genesis 3:10

The one who is afraid of God hides from God. The one who fears God hides in Him.

Many believers have a relationship with God but lack the reverence for God. 

2. Fear of God overcomes other fears. 

- Matthew 10:28

Put fear in its place. Fear God, not man.

Whoever you fear, that’s who you revere. 

Many believers have a relationship with God but revere only men. 

The best way to overcome fear is not to remove it but to replace it.

3. Fear of God causes us to flee sin instead of flirting with sin. 

If we only have a relationship with God, we will flirt with sin. 
If we have reverence for God, we will flee sin.

4. Lack of fear of God brings a lot of foolishness. 

- Proverbs 1:7

Wisdom and being smart is not the same thing. 

Wisdom comes from the fear of God. Knowledge comes from learning and living.
