Hug It Out America Live

40 episodes - English - Latest episode: about 3 years ago -

I am on a journey to embrace America. Not through a screen but face to face. All of it. The parts I agree with and the parts I don't. It started with a 50 state hug mission. Wrapped my mind around 23 then the virus hit. So now I am stuck at home. Still hugging it out. Just over the airwaves but at least I'm live.

JP the amazing man behind my "Fierce Love" Painting I have staked in my yard.

June 17, 2020 16:00 - 42 minutes - 38.2 MB

The painting you see is one I commissioned by Jamar Pierre the smiling man towering above it.. https://www.artbyjpierre.com/ . He is an amazing New Orleans artist just trying to bring his city and the planet together one painting at a time. He is painstaking with love building a mile-long mural for his home of New Orleans.  A good friend of mine brought us together by accident. I saw the inner beauty he saw in the world through his work and I hired him to bring my vision of a Trump Supporter ...

My wife and I tell the story behind this sign and the punch that never happened

June 12, 2020 16:00 - 41 minutes - 37.4 MB

I created this painting in collaboration with a black friend of mine to create unity and get others to find humanity in people we disagree with. It's a long story. The local CBS and ABC station even did a story on my positivity. Everywhere people are saying great things except not here in my town of Northampton. Here the exact opposite. Someone stole my sign and bragged about it. Others threaten further thieving actions if I put another one up. Things have gotten so bad the police patrol my h...

My daughter got me to read this book. She reads hundreds of books a year. I read like ten. Even I could not put it down. The relationship developed in this story with pen and paper between two people each from different sides of the world (Caitlin and Martin)  is spell bounding. Cancel Culture and how it ripped my life apart

May 28, 2020 16:00 - 53 minutes - 47.6 MB

In light of what is going on the news today, I have decided to have a spur of the moment show. Cancel culture and the dangers of it. The dictionary definition and how I define it are a bit different. I was a victim of it myself in local media. In the short term, it ripped my life apart, but in the end, it made me a much better man. I will discuss all from past victims of cancel culture like Bill Buckner of the Boston Red Sox to Amy Cooper and the evolution of her being canceled as I write.

DARYL DAVIS SHRINKING THE KKK MEMBERSHIP ONE HUG AT A TIME

May 14, 2020 16:00 - 55 minutes - 49.7 MB

Daryl Davis is an amazing musician. He even used to play some piano for Chuck Berry, but to me what I admire most about him is how he laterally hugs out hate.  His music has allowed him to bridge the gap with people most would not even be in the same room with. He has used the power of blues and the humanity we all share to voluntarily get over 200 KKK members to leave the KKK for good. If that is not god's work I do not know what is. He has some amazing stories to share. I have heard some of...

KEEP CALM AND SKIP ON SAY KIM CORBIN

May 13, 2020 16:00 - 58 minutes - 52.8 MB

I love people that do their own thing. No matter if the world approves of them or not especially if it creates happiness and unity. Kim is that kind of person with her skipping movement. She has quite the following too. People all over the US join her.  Hope she can give me some pointers to refine my skills. My kids laugh at me when I skip, but it sure does put a sprint in my step and a smile on my face every time I do it. There is so much more to Kim than just skipping, but you will have to ...

HE IS CREATING A MILE LONG MURAL BUT HIS HEART FOR UNITY GOES MUCH FURTHER

May 04, 2020 16:00 - 1 hour - 60.3 MB

Jamar Pierre (JP) came from very different streets than me. Still, by a twist of fate and a stroll by the Mississippi, we have become good friends. His art is captivating and soul-stirring, but his heart for unity and love is what drew me in. Knee deep in a project to create a mile-long love mural along the sea wall in New Orleans, I convinced him to work on a painting called "Fierce Love."  That project led to a deeper friendship and  our partnership to cultivate unity way beyond the city of...

So I met Scott Hogue on Facebook and though we have very different views we immediately hit it off. He is a very talented singer-songwriter too.  This summer I added a stop on my hug tour just to meet him.  I laughed the whole time and my daughter Savvy smiled along with the fun too. As he sat in the trunk of his Cadillac playing his guitar and serenading my daughter to a half made-up song, I knew we would be friends for life. So next week he will come and bring his music and laughs to my sho...

So I am stuck at home. No live sports to sav...
