Hear about three books for kids that explore different perspectives on history, ancient art, and animals. The picture book "Tell Me a Story Babushka" has a Ukranian grandmother describing to her daughter the horrors of the 1932 Holodmor famine in Ukraine (Schmidt, ill. Barghigiani; 2022). "Ancestory" shows pictures of ancient rock carvings and paintings from around the worls, with background information and glossary (Salyar, 2023). "What Animals Want: The Five Freedoms in Action" encourages readers to consider the needs of non-humans from the anmals' perspectives, and offers tips for taking action to improve the lives of pets, farm animals, and wild animals(Pearce, 2021).
