Giant Hogweed, a large, flowering plant that used to be sought after for its attractiveness in English gardens, can cause serious burns and blisters. The DEC set up a hotline to report giant hogweed plants to ensure safe removal. To learn more, we spoke with Daniel Waldhorn, Giant Hogweed Information Line Coordinator.
If you suspect you may have found giant hogweed you should take photos, note the location, and report the site to NYS DEC via email, or by calling the Giant Hogweed Information Line: 1-845-256-3111.
