Previous Episode: SOLIDARITY NOTES REPORT (Doug Bullock)
Donald Hyman, local actor/ producer/ director/ educator, talks with Brea Barthel about how his "living theatrical historical documentaries" capture tales of African Americans that might otherwise be lost. A film of "Conversations on Freedom," his most recent work on the formation of the Pullman Porters Union, the first African-American union in the U.S., will premiere in an event at the Albany Institute of History and Art on Saturday 2/5/22. Hear about that as well as his earlier work on Zora Neale Hurston, Maya Angelou, Harriet Tubman, and oral histories of local Albany folks. For info on the 2/5 event, visit www.albanyinstitute.org.
