The “Iroquois Pipeline Company” wants to drastically increase the amount of gas they push through their 37-year-old, 414-mile fossil gas pipeline running from the Canadian border to Long Island and NYC. They are seeking a permit from the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) to double the size of four toxic and noisy gas compressor stations that have long polluted disadvantaged, working-class communities in Dover and Athens, NY. Niki Cross of New York Lawyers for the Public Interest and Ben Schwartz of White Pine Community Farms talks to Mark Dunlea of Hudson Mohawk Magazine as to why climate activists want the project rejected.
