The Albany County Legislature held a public hearing on the Albany Clean Air Act. Several members of the town of Coeymans were present to urge the passage of the local law to protect their community from LafargeHolcim burning tires in their kilns. LafargeHolcim put money into the November election to unseat the proponents of the Coeyman’s Clean Air Law from the town board. Coeyman residents fear that when the new town administration begins in January, the Clean Air Law will be repealed.
