What people skills would you gain from spending months at a time underwater in a Navy submarine?

My How to Spark Success podcast guest in this episode is John Parr - Expert and Founder in the Emotional Assertiveness Model.

Having struggled at school with dyslexia and moving directly into an engineering career in the Navy, he soon found he wasn't feeling fulfilled within this role. He moved into work within drug rehab, before studying Psychology and teaching others. He has developed the Emotional Assertiveness Model to help people understand their and other's emotions better and how if expressed in a constructive way, this can lead to a more productive and successful team or group.

He talks in this episode about making the most of and acting on opportunities that come up in your career, how flexibility and resilience has helped him to be successful, and how he has got through 3 near death experiences with his stubborn refusal to give in!
