Steve introduces ‘The Lighthouse Effect’, the qualities of a lighthouse and its symbology (and therefore why we still have lighthouses even though technology has moved on) and how the lighthouse provides a framework for leadership.

Reflecting on the shift from work-life balance to life-work balance, Steve discusses the inversion driven by the pandemic and the opportunities for HR. Noting that in many stories superheroes are orphans, and sharing his own story, Steve discusses examples of work and his thoughts on equity in systems, diversity and inclusion.

Acknowledging HR is often caught in the middle can feel fatigued, Steve encourages you, with humility, to celebrate HR’s achievements – asking you to be part of ‘HR celebrating HR’.
