If you’re in or going to be in Los Angeles between now and June 16th, you may want to check out “I Like Horror” at the Desmond. The 25,000-square-foot interactive horror exhibit features pop-art interpretations that allow visitors to wander the hedgerows at the Overlook hotel, wallow in a giant Chinese takeout container of maggots from “The Lost Boys, creep through Freddy Krueger's boiler room, and many other scenes. "I'm a huge fan of all of these films," experiential artist Maximillian, who devised the pop-up horror house, tells Newsweek. "Some would be considered straight-up horror, some maybe not so much. But they all have scary elements. They all have an overarching dark universe. And I really wanted to touch the different horror fandoms." If you can’t make it to LA, the artist says he’d like to take it on the road, so you may get a chance in the future.

Vox has quite an article titled “Inside the haunted doll markets of eBay and Etsy”. Haunted doll sellers and collectors say buyers should beware. Because possessed and haunted dolls aren’t just the realm of movies like Annabelle and Chucky. They’re real. “Etsy and eBay list thousands of dolls purportedly inhabited by everything from evil witches to judgmental spirits that might call you fat to young children and fairy spirits. Most haunted dolls sell for around $50 plus shipping, but the most highly prized ones are priced well into the four figures. There’s a formula, too, for how they’re sold: Each listing contains a detailed overview of the spirit’s life story, details of said spirit’s death, and a description of their personality. Dolls are labeled “active” or “highly active” if paranormal phenomena are said to occur frequently in their vicinity. Some are advertised as being able to move objects, make noises, or communicate via telepathy or Ouija board, while others are meant to act as creative muses, play matchmaker by revealing potential lovers in dreams, or emit positive energy.” You really should read the article to learn the stringent testing process that some dealers use to assure that the dolls are genuine. Skeptical? A believer? Well, decide for yourself.
