A little more than a week after the Diablo 3 livestream launch day marathon, Justin, Ethan and Josh reconnect to see if their opinions of the game have changed for better or for worse. Server issues be damned, this is about the game!

The Cursed Checkpoint is a topical video game podcast focused on discussions and interviews about a single video game, genre, news headline, or industry story. It features a rotating cast of up to 3 members of the Horrible Night writing staff and/or video game industry professionals.

Episode Background

It’s easy to get caught up in the fervor of the launch of a huge game, especially if you play 10+ hours straight of that game as soon as you possibly can. While we offered up plenty of opinions of the game during the livestream, we thought it was important to check back in on our crew’s solo and multiplayer Diablo 3 adventures.

This checkpoint is spoiler-free as far as the story goes and focuses on getting to know the character classes of Diablo 3 during the initial playthrough on Normal. This episode is intended for gamers new to the Diablo series as well as series and genre veterans.

This is Part 1 of a two part episode series on Diablo III. Part 2 focuses on the online connectivity requirements of the game.
