With one command Joseph could have had his brothers executed in a horrible way - revenge for their actions all those years ago. But Joseph had been living his life as God wanted him to, trusting in Him, and ridden his life of bitterness. Joseph was able to look back at his life and see God’s hand in all of it, therefore when the opportunity came to get revenge, Joseph instead paves the way for a better future, and a reunited family.
