In commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Spanish Civil War Joe Mulhall interviewed the eminent historian Paul Preston to discuss the causes and the course of the civil war. They touch upon the war vs revolution debate (including Orwell's true opinion of the POUM tactics), the real origins of Picasso's painting Guernica, and the gains made by the republic.
This is a part of a series of antifascist history podcasts which began with an earlier interview with David Renton about his research into the Anti-Nazi League.
