Episode 9: Looking Like a Snack

This week join Kat and Honi for a chat with Allie Dykstra! Allie is an up-and-coming portrait photographer based in Seattle, WA. Having an affinity towards the arts all of her life, Allie has been playing the game of balance between her two passions: business and creativity. She picked up her first camera at 16 years old in high school film class, still vividly remembering and cherishing the days of photo shooting with friends, then manually processing her own prints in the darkroom. She ultimately chose to study business in college, later landing an exciting corporate job opportunity, and picked up her entire life in Michigan to move out to the West Coast. She has since fallen in love with the Pacific Northwest, feeling most at peace in the outdoors. Photography had always just been her creative outlet, until one day in 2020 when she decided to follow her life-long dream of launching her business, Alexandrae Photo. We find Allie coming up on the year mark of making her dreams a reality. She now specializes in Intimate Weddings, Boudoir, and Editorial photography in the Seattle area and beyond.
