Alec Klein is a best-selling author and award-winning journalist who formerly wrote for the Washington Post and Wall Street Journal. His investigations helped free prisoners who were wrongfully convicted of murder and other serious crimes. He has helped dozens of excessively sentenced prisoners gain their freedom through parole and commutation. Alec was also a professor at The Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and the director of the Medill Justice Project. In 2018, Alec was accused of sexual misconduct by students and staffers at Medill. He voluntarily resigned from his position at the university while denying the allegations. Last year, Alec wrote a book titled "Aftermath: When It Felt Like Life Was Over," detailing his experience.
