Though it is right to imitate the saints in their earthly example, narrated in their biographies and journals, it is also necessary (and perhaps more urgent) to imitate them in their current activity. The saints, right now, in heaven, are resting in the Lord. What does it mean to rest well? Rather than focusing this All Saints Day on how much more work we need to do to bring about the Kingdom, perhaps we would do well to imitate the saints in Glory who have found their eternal rest.
