With a draw on the road that felt like a loss, Atlanta United draws New England Revolution 1-1 Wednesday only to return home to Mercedes Benz for a much needed win, albeit a sloppy one against the Philadelphia Union 3-1.  Both games had their share of ups and downs for Atlanta United, but none more chaotic than the 30 seconds against the Union that led to back to back red cards for Bedoya and Medunjanin.  With two PKs awarded, Martinez becomes the fastest player in MLS history to reach 5 hat tricks in just 34 games.  Atlanta looks forward to US Open Cup play this Wednesday against Charleston Battery at Kennesaw State University.  It’s a prime opportunity for ATLUTD to bring in their youth players and we discuss what some of these options may be.  Finally we look ahead to the NYCFC game this weekend up in Yankee Stadium.  Currently Atlanta sits atop both the Eastern Conference and the Supporters Shield Race, will they remain there?  We’ll see.  All that and more this week on HB4D.

Tim, Dan, and Kevin are here to bring you a weekly look at their hometown MLS team – Atlanta United FC. They look to bring their insights on the previous game, how the team has been doing, where they currently stand in the MLS, and look forward to their next game of the week. It’s almost that time. The streetlights just came on and you had better leave soon to be Home Before Dark. Find the whole gang on twitter @timherb @dnjms and @the_ARC1TECT and collectively @HomeB4Dark
