Ep 147 - The Falklands War ft. VetNation

This week we are joined by Skipper from the VetNation podcast to discuss one of the topics William knew most about prior to starting this show. The Falkland islands are British settled islands in the middle of the Atlantic ocean, who were invaded by the CIA-installed Military Junta of Argentina in the early 1980s to distract from a financial crisis and a repressive authoritarian regime. The British government and military sprang quickly into action and, against the wishes of US President Ronald Reagan, sent a taskforce to reclaim the islands to British rule. A hard fought battle ensued between the two similarly armed forces and it resulted in the British retaking the Islands before the UN issued a ceasefire.
