On Feb. 7, 2018, guided by a book (brilliantly) written by a former alcoholic and newspaper man more than two decades earlier, two drinking buddies walked through the door of Bill's Steak House & Lounge on a sleepy Wednesday night, officially launching a creative, celebratory journey into the heart of Portland's classic bar culture. Exactly four years, one pandemic, and 42 bars later, they have arrived at the end...of this chapter anyway.
Grab your favorite drink and come along with us as we conclude Phase 1 of the HTBG project with long awaited visits to The Leaky Roof Gastropub and, next week, The Goose Hollow Inn. One a place that continues to remind us of all that was once good about bar-going in Portland, and it could be again...and another, that provided possibly the warmest and completely unexpected experience of this entire adventure.
