She used to supply attorneys with experts and legal nurse consultants in court cases. Pat joins Molly McGrath to talk about her knowledge in the area of legal nursing consulting.

In the 1980’s, there was a concept that physicians could talk about nursing care and then the court systems noted that those are two different professions. All records used to be hand written so there was a considerable focus on what a piece of paper might say. Legal nurse consultants help with that. A legal nurse consultant is more focused on the nuances and finding a way to clear up the information while a paralegal records what they see on the screen. Attorneys see the pieces of information that are missing. They want to make sure that they are not caught off guard by any secret information. You want to make sure you are able to distinguish the difference between an expert or a consultant in a case.
