I had the pleasure of sitting down with one of the coolest young artists in Humboldt County, Rowdy. I talked with Rowdy about his early first experiences in the music business, and an interesting story about a record label deal in Los Angeles.

Rowdy also talks about the music and his growth. He's been producing, learning piano and other instruments. Him and his boy Cam built their own studio and they are constantly leveling up towards their goals and vision.

Rowdy talks about the beautiful people who are doing great things by providing outlets for youth right now in Humboldt County — Maggie (principal at Hoopa High), Zach Lehner (educator, and one of the founders/as well as current President of the Humboldt Hip Hop Congress), and JUiCE from JUiCEBox - all doing work to grow people here in Humboldt.

Rowdy talks about the beauty of hip hop. The longevity of it and how he wants to make timeless music. We talked about the power of Kendrick Lamar and how timeless his work is. We talked about Mr Morale and The Big Steppers. We talked about JID and The Forever Story. We talked about J Cole, Tyler the Creator and the importance of being yourself. We talked about Mac Miller and the power of the music he made while he was here.

Rowdy gives his propers to Cameron for all the support he's given him. There was a lot of prolific conversation, it was a really fire interview, so don't miss this episode! Stay tuned to The HipHopHumboldt Podcast for more interviews with artists each month!
