Did the Rams win the Super Bowl in February, or did I just dream that?

In sports betting, we're used to reigning champs being priced at the top of the market when a new season rolls around. That's thanks in part to shaky-but-popular syllogisms like, "the champ is the champ until someone beats them."

The Rams are something of an exception. The Chiefs and Bills are both bigger favorites to win the Super Bowl. The Rams aren't even the favorite to win the NFC -- that's Tampa.

Why are the Rams viewed so skeptically, compared to other recent Super Bowl winners? As is often the case, an unpopular favorite may ultimately be a sharp one.
