 Welcome, brave adventurers...

... to the one hundred sixty-fifth entry into our chronicle, recorded on Saturday, May 8th, and released Wednesday, May 12th, over at heroesrisepodcast.com.

In this week’s Adventurer’s Pack, Lennon shows us he can speak D&D. There’s no D&D News this week, so instead we ...

OK, I’m going to just level with you guys for a second. There is, actually, a tonne [ed.: plethora] of D&D News. Essentially, a YouTuber (who’s done this sort of thing before) received a review copy of Van Richten’s Guide, and did a page-by-page reveal, in full-screen, in 4K, and so the entire book has been leaked. We were going to cover some of the official teasers on Dark Gifts and how the Dhampir, Hexblood and Reborn lineages compare to their UA counterparts; but considering you can’t move on the internet for other, much bigger spoilers, it kinda seems a little pointless. Also, we’re going to save our review for next week, when Van Richten’s Guide officially launches. Anyway, where was I? Ah, yes...

There’s no D&D News this week, so instead we open our Quest Logs as Indigo Specter takes us through Stonehill Blues, an adventure set in an old fortress, where the players must hunt down a dangerous basilisk.

After that we take a Short Rest and hear some Wisdom from the Masters as we ask “Whyfor the locked door?”; before finally heading over to the Scrying Pool to see what you have to say.

Last Week’s Community Questions

What’s the most classic D&D adventure you can remember playing? It can be a literal classic, like an early incarnation of Tomb of Horrors, or just a module that had what you thought was a classic feel to it.

Have you had to deal with an impenetrable door? Or a long-winded search for a MacGuffin to get to a specific place? Tell us what it was, and let us know if it was a good adventure hook or an annoying obstacle for you.

Our adventure has now ended, and we've hung up our robe and wizard hats to enjoy our retirement on the Sword Coast, running a tavern where a fresh band of adventurers may meet and start quests of their own. We're still around on Discord, and you should come and join the Heroes Rise community at http://discord.heroesrisepodcast.com
