In this special Wheel of the Year episode I discuss Ostara, a sabbat that combines the name of an ancient Germanic Spring goddess, with the themes and symbols of springtime. I talk about the complex history of this celebration, including how hares and eggs came to be connected to this time of year. I also discuss the lovely themes of fertility, resurrections, femininity, balance, and renewal that come with the Ostara sabbat. Although the sabbat itself is not complicated, deconstructing its history was quite the task!

As always, I share the correspondences of Ostara, talk about the different kinds of magick to focus on this time of year, and give you ways to celebrate on March 20th. I finish by sharing a traditional Carrot Cake recipe that you can easily make from scratch for your Ostara gathering (or solitary celebration).
