Maurice started a personal initiative called the 100 mile hunger walk almost 10 years ago now, to raise awareness and funds to end hunger, poverty and injustice. It means that he walks 100 miles in a week (15-20 miles a day) while also at the same time lift up the stories of those in need as well as the volunteers who try to assist those people in need. His organization developed an app to increase the impact via gamification and most recently he started a podcast building on the conversations he had during those 100 mile walks about people's drive/motivation/worries/hopes and dreams. Our talk with him will be done while he is in the middle of the Ration Challenge as he will be eating the same as a Syrian refugee living in a camp in Jordan, based on food packs distributed by the Ration Challenge's local partner organization. By raising money, Maurice and the other Challenge participants help bring emergency food, hygiene kits and life-saving support to the people that need it most.

This conversation is presented by Her Many Voices Foundation and facilitated by Myrna James. James is a publisher, journalist, and interpreter of high tech. Her publication Apogeo Spatial illuminates how data from space is used to study the earth for the sake of humanity.

The event is produced by Aicila Lewis, Organizational Strategist for Her Many Voices Foundation.
