In the Mix: Some Like it Hot


We’re back at the Bay Street Bistro this week celebrating the birthdays of Marilyn Monroe and Tony Curtis, with a tribute to their 1959 film, also starring Jack Lemmon, Some Like it Hot.  If you like it hot, you’ll love this week’s cocktail - a spicy little number that may or may not include... hot sauce!  The Bistro will be featuring the drink this Sunday, June 6th as part of their Sunday Supper, along with a special menu.  So tune in to In the Mix on YouTube, catch up on your Some Like it Hot film trivia, then call for a reservation.


Historic Roxy Theater "Movies of the Decade": Rebel Without a Cause


In honor of their 80th birthday, the Historic Roxy Theater in Bremerton, WA, will continue their "Movies of the Decade" series with a showing of Rebel Without a Cause starring James Dean tomorrow Saturday, June 5th.  We'll be hosting and will be joined, virtually, by our friend, TCM guest host, film historian, and author, Jeremy Arnold, who’ll introduce the film.  Tickets are just $11 and we’ll hit the stage at 6pm.  Visit roxybremerton.org/showtimes for tickets.


West Sound Film Festival 2021 Accepting Submissions

IN THE SPOTLIGHT:  Tommy Kurzman (Part II)


Tommy is the makeup and prosthetics designer for Mrs. Doubtfire the New Musical Comedy, which debuted in Seattle, previews in October, and officially opens on Broadway December 5th.  Tommy also recently designed wigs and makeup for the NYC revival of Little Shop of Horrors.  And his makeup, prosthetics, hair, and wig design skills have contributed to over 15 other Broadway shows including All My Sons, True West, St. Joan, My Fair Lady, The Little Foxes, Long Day’s Journey into Night, Bright Star, King Kong, The King and I, and Fiddler on the Roof - along with many other off-Broadway and regional shows.  Follow Tommy on Instagram to see examples of his artistry in action.
