Your Heard Tell for Thursday, August the 4th, 2022 is turning down the noise of the news cycle and getting to the information we need to discern the time we live in by taking Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi's trip to Taiwan and what the news media coverage and China's reaction to the trip really tell us about who is provoking who, and when a "show of strenght" is masking concerns. Meanwhile, in the US Senate a story we've been covering continues to progress as NATO expansion passes in the self-proclaimed "World's Greatest Deliberative Body" with only one vote against - Senator Josh Hawley. We'll discuss how the only thing more ridiculous than his posing dissent was the reasoning he offered for it. Our guest today is Heard Tell regular and Elections Daily's own Joe Szymanski who returns to break down the primary action from Tuesday night. Arizona, Washington, Missouri, Kansas, and Michigan all went to the poll and Joe helps sort out what the surprises were, what happened as expected, and what the matchups for the November general election mean. Joe also breaks down the big name races, and how the surprise of the night didn't involve a candidate at all. We've been talking about the devastating flooding in Eastern Kentucky on Heard Tell, so for our last segment we cover a list of places folks can donate funds, goods, or time to as the recovery effort for the area begins, and knowing that after the headlines fade the folks affect will still have weeks and months of struggle ahead. All that and more on this Thursday edition of Heard Tell.
