Dr. George Okpamen is the Startups Strategy Leader for U.S. Diabetes and Biomedicines Business Units at Eli Lilly & Company. He is also the Founder and Executive Chairman of L.E.A.P at Lilly, initiative focused on leveraging, engaging, and advancing pharmacists inside and outside of the company. Dr. Okpamen is a high-energy, high-profile leader who has a passion for breaking new ground and connecting people with purpose. He launched and led the consumer experience brand strategy for BAQSIMI®, the first and only dry nasal spray to treat low blood sugar emergencies. He has held key leadership roles with the Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA) and is the co-founder and Executive Vice President of PILs, which stands for Pharmacy Initiative Leaders. Dr. Okpamen received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Texas Southern University and is a Visiting Scientist Fellow at Eli Lilly specializing in Global Public Policy and Corporate Affairs. He was recently accepted into an MBA program at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business and is expected to begin this fall.
