Eating disorders are a range of psychological conditions that cause unhealthy eating habits to develop. This type of disorder sometimes starts with an obsession with food, body weight, or body shape. In some rare cases, people develop health challenges or even death if this disorder is not attended to or treated.

According to Statistics, at least 9% of the population worldwide have an eating disorder. In Canada, an estimated 1 million Canadians have an eating disorder. Also, an estimated 28 million Americans have or have had an eating disorder at some point in their life while 19,040 persons were admitted to hospitals for having an eating disorder between 2018/2019. Research also says that about 10,200 people die every year as a result of an eating disorder - that's one death every 52 minutes, scary right? Do you also know that about 26% of people with eating disorders attempt suicide?
