I enjoyed this episode. Listening to it again in order to write this paragraph, it just reconfirmed to me what a great conversation this was for the #HTNeurotechSeries on  Heads Talk. You need to watch what these guys are doing and how they are reimagining hearing devices. Remember when the first Apple iPhone came out, well this is that moment in the Hearing device world. My guest and his team are changing the way we see and use this device, making it more than its initial intended use. In fact, those that do not have impaired hearing will be using it to enhance their hearing  beyond the level of a human. Now do you understand what I'm talking about?  Some would argue that the smartphone has made humans less intelligent, whereas this device will enhance cognition.

I absolutely love when something that is not on your radar just enters into your space. This is it. I was wowed by the work that my guest is doing for those who are audio impaired, but I would most definitely call it Hearing Aid+ and you will understand why when you listen to this episode.  In fact, I grappled with the title of this episode and switched between ‘The Neuroscience of Hearing’, ‘Reimagined the Hearing Device’, ‘Deep Neural Network’, ‘AI and Smart Hearing Tech’ to then settle on the title above. 

Achin Bhowmik, the EVP and CTO of Starkey, is also an Adjunct  Professor of Neuroscience for @Stanford University.  He has won many Scientific and Technology based awards & has been named in the top 10 CTOs of 2022. You need to look at the list to understand what an achievement that is. 

This was a 'buckle up, listen and learn’ episode and he brought audio edge intelligence to the fore. I can't emphasise enough what a great insightful conversation this was. You will be amazed. Guaranteed!
