This is a celebratory episode of Heads Talk  today.  I want to pay homage to an unshakeable leader that oozes inspiration. Such a fabulous conversation as we bid farewell to the 177th President of the Law Society of England and Wales. 

Ingrid Stephanie Boyce hands over the reins of the presidency in 2 days time, so I was absolutely delighted when she agreed to talk with Heads Talk about her tenure and plans for the future.

In the midst of my conversation with Stephanie and in the process understanding the journey she took, I lightheartedly called her actions ‘madness’ for her sheer tenacity. She is such a winner and an admirable one too. Thoroughly enjoyed the  discussion and embraced her personable nature, yet I observed how focused, self-assured and saturated with determination she was and is. One can easily bet that Stephanie’s next venture will be equally fruitful, opening many doors for others and providing a new refreshing perspective on practices, which will only ameliorate, enrich and dust off the cobwebs of the status quo. An episode to listen to time and time again if you need to hear the voice of someone who was once knocked back 4 times, but was not deterred, in fact when eventually the vote was Yes, she became the longest serving President of the Law Society England and Wales. Bravo Stephanie! You were the change we needed to see. 

Some Fact: Stephanie was admitted as a solicitor in 2002 & has a wealth of experience in corporate governance, regulatory frameworks and professional regulation. She wears many hats and has numerous titles to include Chair, Commissioner, Trustee, Board Member. 

Stephanie is an honorary professor of law at the Dickson Poon School of Law at Kings College London, and has received honorary Doctorates of Law from Keele University and University of East London.

In 2020 Stephanie was voted on to the Governance Hot 100 - Board Influencer and made the Power List 100 Most Influential Black People in the UK in 2021 and 2022
