British drummer Ash Soan has worked with Adele, Celine Dion, Cher, Seal, Robbie Williams, Enrique Iglesias – to name a few – and in this interview he reflects on his first big break as a drummer in 1994 when he joined Del Amitri, leading to work with some of the biggest artists on the planet and on projects as diverse as playing at the 2012 Olympic Games opening ceremony and as the house drummer on The Voice. Soan recalls his memorable first meeting with Adele, shares tips for aspiring drummers, and explains why the recent installation of two Neve 88-RLB preamps at The Windmill Studios - his own recording hub - has transformed his workflow.
