This week, we got a chance to visit a renown Poké shop, Fresh Catch. Fresh Catch is a majorly popular Poké shop here on Oahu. They are known for their vast choice of over 20 styles of Poké and also their non-seafood plates, such as their Oxtail Soup and Pastele Stew and fries. Another reason customers love coming back here is the value you get for your money. For about $12, you can get a 1/3 pound of any Poké of your choice over a hot bed of freshly cooked white, or brown, rice.
Back in 2012, Fresh Catch was featured on the popular Food Network television show, Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. They have also opened additional locations with a couple of food trucks and a shop in Kanehohe.
Reno Henriques is the founder and main chef of Fresh Catch. He had always wanted to own his own "Seafood & Meat Deli" shop since he was a teen. Being raised by the Ocean and going spear fishing a lot, he used his years to perfect his local dishes and eventually opened his first seafood and tailgate deli shop. Not only will you find savory eats at Fresh Catch, you will also find different marinades and dressings created by Reno himself, and Red Velvet cupcakes made fresh daily by his wife, Mahea.
