As a player within Major League Baseball for over a decade, Howard Johnson was a two-time All Star, a home run and RBI champion of the National League in 1991, a beacon of hope during the dark days of the New York Mets organization, and a two-time World Series champion. HoJo was also the manager of a co-championed Brooklyn Cyclones team in 2001, became the hitting coach of the Mets and mentor to David Wright, and is currently the hitting coach of the Seattle Mariners. Quite a career, right?

Yet for some reason, the immensely respected Johnson never got his due in the Mets Hall of Fame. Although he is a cult favorite of die-hard Mets fan and is still in the top 10 for the majority of important Mets stats, he has not been enshrined into the Mets Hall of Fame, especially after all that he accomplished for the franchise. However, that stops today!

On behalf of the #HardwayHQ Podcasting Network, I have inducted HOWARD “HOJO” JOHNSON INTO THE#HARDWAYHQ HALL OF FAME AS ITS SECOND INDUCTEE!

Listen to all of his magical important moments with the Mets in 1986, 1987, 1989, 1991 and SO MUCH MORE!!! Plus, Leon St. Giovanni gives a statement, Good News Hughes and Ed Scanlon from the Hardcore BF Podcast calls in, and “the Barb” texts a moment on a HoJo memory!

Over/Under: Do you think HoJo will ever collect his #HardwayHQ Hall of Fame trophy?

To all fans of baseball, this is for you. Howard Johnson is now in a Hall of Fame. The #HardwayHQ Hall of Fame. Thank you for your stellar and noble ball play, HoJo.
