2501 is an Italian artist that travels and works worldwide. We talk about how we came up with his name, Brasil, painting graffiti and trains for 10 years in the 90s, why painting letters and characters became too restrictive, the journey of making work, the scene in Milan at the turn of the century, how his video work is a part of his process, committing to being a full-time artist in 2007, being a nomadic artist, learning from artist friends like The London Police, BO130, Microbo and Galo, growing up in a Buddhist community, the work reflecting a sort of mapping and representation of time, working with clients, how the scene got bigger but not better, and resetting in Peru.
